I caught Miracle this afternoon, and it wasn’t a bad way to spend a couple of hours. The acting was great, and the semi-final game against the Russians is enough to support the fairly bland script. If you don’t like sports, there’s nothing there for you, but if you do like sports it’s one of the great stories. The hockey is really well filmed.

Couple of bonus points for the reaction shots of the Russians after the game. They look human and their pain at losing is clear. Beat the hell out of Rocky IV.

I saw Miracle yesterday afternoon, too! It was great, since all three of us who went are hockey fans, and it was fun recognizing the names of players who went on to have NHL careers. The only flaw came right at the end, and it was such a stupid mistake that we spent the whole trip home talking about it: they screwed up the medal ceremony. The Finns aren't in it. They have the US in the gold medal position correctly, but the Russians are in the silver medal position, and the Swedes in the bronze medal position. D'oh!!
