I think it's interesting how nearly everyone is focusing on the "chameleon" and "reinvention" aspect of Madonna, while ignoring the bits that remain constant: Music, self-centered ambition, and a fascination with religion and religious imagry (even during her Erotica period there was an aspect of the transcendant/mystical, via S&M).

Perhaps it's because I've seen Truth or Dare, or something...
