End of an Era
So as I'm driving down the 101 the other day, I see an exit sign which strikes me as weird somehow. Takes a couple of seconds. It's busy somehow. Complex... oh, there's an exit number on it!
I'd heard California was going to implement exit numbers on the freeways. They'd be Midwest style, with the exit numbers corresponding to the miles -- so if Rengstorff was exit 304, and the Moffet Field exit was four miles further on, Moffet Field would be exit 309. But I didn't think it was going to happen so soon.
Then again, this sign claimed that the Milbrae exit was exit 420, so maybe somebody went into business for themselves.
