I've talked about Lost badassery, but I've never created a comprehensive list of film badasses. That's why I'm not Vern. Here it is.

Denzel Washington's character in Man on Fire

Swordsman 2 (Ensemble, but particularly Brigitte Lin's Invincible Asia)

I want to say Bridget Gregory from The Last Seduction, but then we start getting into femme fatales and that's slightly different. But she is badass.

Doc Holliday, Tombstone. If it's possible to be badass while mostly drinking, lounging around, and coughing up blood, then Kilmer is very badass here. I'd say he's merely Cool, but it's a cool with a significant "will kill you if he needs to" quotient that moves it into badass territory for me.

I don't know if I can get behind Leon being all the way down at 88.

Drastic oversites:
Brotherhood of the Wolf: ensemble
Big Trouble in Little China: Jack Burton

I'm half awake and hitting the wrong keys...

Oversites con't:
The Transporter: Jason Straham
Pitch Black: Vin Diesel

Finally though I'm not sure if it's appropriate to this list since it's more film based than individual character based, a lively debate over a 2.5 hour car ride established the most bad ass character of all time is the bookie chick with the shotgun in Snatch. She wasn't on long, but in her short time on film she didn't do anything that WASN'T Badass, thus resulting in the most badassedness per minute.

I feel that this is a line that should be used more often. I request a life in which badassness per minute is a usual unit of measurement, please.

I can't say I'm terribly crushed by Leon being down at 88, but I definitely agree that Jack Burton should really be on there somewhere.

I have to admit it gave me a big ol' fat grin to see that Roddy Piper made it to 89 in They Live! Good stuff.
