Meander

Back from the Cape (and a smattering of Ikea). We scored some David Eyre's pancakes, which are always a treat. We also met Mom's cats. Cute, even when partially shaven. I don't know why the shaving exactly.

[livejournal.com profile] michele_blue says "mats in the fur." Maine Coons look odd when they're all shaven except for their manes. I have a picture of Mango, but not one handy.

[livejournal.com profile] vampyrusgirl and [livejournal.com profile] editswlonghair have that done to their Maine coon for mats, too - and, truly, it robs the animal of all dignity. ;p Very funny-looking!

That pancake sounds really good, and I am picturing with the splash of grand marnier as the recipe talks about, but then followed up with the vanilla sauce from this: http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=522329

My mom had a Maine coon that would get terrible clumps of fur on his belly. They had an evening ritual where he would lie on her lap belly up and let her trim out the clumps with a pair of scissors. This went on for quite some time until the night that she grabbed and nearly snipped something that turned out to NOT be a fur clump but rather something he'd much rather not have snipped off. The evening ritual ended then.

Yeah, we have Nick shaven on a regular basis for that exact reason. And we laugh at him for DAYS after he's been shaved! :)
