I no longer need to come up with my own RPG campaign ideas. E.g.:

"The PCs are futuristic ninjas in a large corporation who, with their bare hands, fight corporate wrongdoers for gold in the Renaissance." Sure, I can run that. The ninjas don't get to bring their technology back and... the time machine went bad, so the plot arc is them trying to save money to bootstrap technology so they can rebuild.

"The PCs are mystic lawyers in New England who, with captured animals, fight aliens for purposes of fulfilling prophecy in the near future." Yes. Yes they are.

"The PCs are supermodel mutants in an apartment complex who, with basketball, fight everyone else for purposes of fulfilling prophecy in the Middle Ages."

I would so play in that game. Actually, I think it should be a LARP.

"The PCs are rogue rock stars in an epic poem who, with forbidden knowledge, fight demons for revenge in the Middle Ages."

Change that to the Near Future and you've got our Starchildren game!

Possibly even a better LARP:

"The PCs are wacky gods in a post-apocalyptic wasteland who, with breakdancing, fight everyone else for booze in prehistoric times."

"The PCs are divine cowboys in our very town who, with guns and more guns, fight their rivals for reasons of their own in the distant future."

Clearly the Fates are telling me to be a cowboy sometime soon.

Isn't that the plot to Firefly?

And/or certain other Scruffy games I could mention. ;-)

Wait: who's the divine one?

Okay, I'll try.

"The PCs are Japanese criminals in New England who, with chainsaws, fight outlaws for money in a dark future." This would make a better Cheap Ass Game than an RPG as such. In fact, it would make a REALLY GOOD CAG.

"The PCs are super-powered warriors in a harsh and unforgiving environment who, with their bare hands, fight orcs for purposes of fulfilling prophecy in the Civil War." This I like a whole lot.

"The PCs are prehistoric astronauts in a major metropolis who, with magic, fight aliens for purposes of fulfilling prophecy in World War II." Okay, that one's probably beyond me.

Use They Fight Crime! (http://www.black-ink.org/fightcrime.htm) to generate PCs.

The third one sounds like a perfect Continuum game, if you substitute "sufficiently advanced technology" for "magic".

"The PCs are apprentice teenagers in a fictional Southern California town who, with breakdancing, fight Evil for the fun of it in the Civil War."

Who doesn't want to be an apprentice teenager? Learning slacking and cussing and bad driving, eventually becoming a journeyman teenager, able to work for hire at writing term papers, sobbing about invented drama, staying up late, and playing Diablo II... then one day completing a masterpiece and taking on apprentices of your own, making them do all the work while you kick back and watch the grant money roll in...
