Or: how to kill Magtheridon with not much room to spare.

(Linnet's main tanking there.)

We need UI show-and-tell hour or something.

Better yet, people (you) just need to package up all their mods and settings for luddites (me) to consume.

I would think a tanking UI would be a very different creature than a healing UI.

Awesome.

Our record was Void Reaver dead with 2 people alive (46 seconds past the enrage timer woot!), but #1 in our hall of fame is still the Prince kill where the only one alive was the mage, which sat over 20 seconds in his iceblock while the (dead) warlock's DoTs finished the job.

And congratulatiosn on downing maggy. Probably not your first time, but doing it with only 2 warlocks is still impressive.

Speaking as a resto-gone-feral druid:

I wouldn't say "very". You still need a lot of the same information, especially if you're also the raidleader.

Certainly the next time I'm over at the house, I want [livejournal.com profile] bryant et al. to show me what the whole setup looks like. Just the bar across the top has me super jealous.

*nod* I guess as RL, I need very little info. I have the CT bars that show whether someone is afk, but then, mostly I have those up to satisfy the question, "are we wiping?". As a tank/puller, I need to see if the healers have mana.

Not to say that the sun rises in the east, but as a tank, I've put my skill cooldowns into the center of the screen, whereas as a healer, I put healthbars there. As my mage, I basically use the default UI, because it's all about watching the pretty AM animation. :)

Hmm...

I wouldn't say "very".

Okay, I guess I'm agreeing with you. :)

Resto gone feral? People let you do that?

Xperl raid frames show me everything - if someone is AFK, everyone's health and mana bars, their buffs, etc. Their only downside is that they take relatively a lot of space on screen (roughly a fourth of your field of view for a large raid). This isn't a problem for a healer since he'll be looking at them fulltime anyway, and it's usually not a problem for a tank since in most boss fights the boss fills your screen anyway.

Seeing as how I like knowing everyone's full status at all times (even if I technically don't need that information) I love those little frames to bits.

People insisted. Not only that, since then nobody wants me to spec back to resto, and I kind of miss it sometimes.

I specced away from feral (to moonkin) and miss it a lot.

Well, you know how I feel about this whole thing, but I would like to comment on the enormous threat contributions of the hunter pets.
