Jan. 28th, 2003 07:17 amHuh. Perhaps DC has finally noticed what Marvel's doing with their movies. Chris Nolan, director of Memento, has signed to do a Batman film. Course, that doesn't mean it'll happen.
What I want to know...
Date: 2003-01-28 12:33 pm (UTC)Actually, I was kind of wondering if Marvel would try a Captain-America-versus-Osamma movie, but I guess that's a bit hard to put into production at the right time so as to be timely when it's released.
Re: What I want to know...
Date: 2003-01-29 09:23 am (UTC)Marvel's current secret is a guy named Avi Arad, who runs Marvel's movie production group. He parlayed the success of Men in Black into the ability to make sure anyone directing a Marvel movie is a topflight director, and he doesn't compromise. DC coulda done the same thing after Batman, but... did not.
Basically, DC just doesn't take that aspect of the business seriously enough to put a really topnotch guy in charge of it. Pity.
