As I think probably most of you know, but in case someone doesn't: my housemate Wyatt killed himself on September 28th, 2008. In the immediate aftermath, last year, we walked to raise money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Registrations are now open for the 2009 AFSP Boston Walk; Team Monkey Hugs will be walking again. More details on the team here. [livejournal.com profile] michele_blue and I will be coming up from Maryland to walk in Boston again, of course. My donation page is here.

It meant more than I can possibly express last year. The walk itself was powerful and affirming, and a reminder that we were not alone. Everything all of you did, walkers and donaters alike: also a reminder, also powerful. This helped us get through the first month, and the second month, and all the months that have come and gone since.

It'll mean a lot this year too. I hope those who can will come and walk again. Register now or later as you like -- I'll post a couple more reminders closer to the date.

See also [livejournal.com profile] yendi's post on AFSP's Chicago Overnight Walk. We'd thought about going on that but with the job hunt it seemed impractical.

If you aren’t watching it, you might want to catch up. The characterization has improved remarkably, and as of the end of the season the plot is equally enjoyable. We’ve taken a heavy turn into the SF. Also, Brad Anderson is producing and directing a bunch of episodes, and he is one creepy director.

Spoilers follow in the form of transcribed newspaper headlines, cause we couldn’t resist freeze framing.
