Short-take Wednesday, that’s what today is. Anyhow, I am enough of a geek to be deeply amused by this meditation on redundant stateful load balancing.

I'd flip the whole thing so "Trusted" is up at Crown, to reflect closeness to the Godhead and nearness to perfection, and "Untrusted" as Malkuth, but otherwise it's a lovely, Eco-esque demonstration that Everything Has To Do With Everything Else.

That made me think. Why *are* network drawings done with at the bottom, and the Internet cloud at the top? Don't we usually put the more important stuff on top in diagrams?

I can come up an argument here relating the cloud to Godhead, though:

The Internet contains more complete knowledge, and is therefore closer to omniscience. The trusted network contains only a (barricaded and guarded) subset of all knowledge, and is therefore a better metaphor for... oh hell, this is silly.
