More conservative talk radio. I have no idea why I listen. Savage America, this time, on the way home from work.
It's conservative doctrine; discussion of how Mexico doesn't want to be our friend now that they might be targets because of it. Etc.
Some woman calls in, and she starts to say something about Muslims.
Mike Savage is on her, fast as a whip. "Do you realize that Jews, Christians, and Muslims all worship the same God?"
"Well... I --"
Cuts her off. "Don't say 'Well.' Do you realize that Jews, Christians, and Muslims all worship the same God?"
"Well, I believe that Jews and Christians do --"
"Then you're poorly educated. You're an ignoramous. All three monotheistic religions worship the same God, all three are descended from Abraham."
And then he talked about his son's friend, a refugee from Afghan, and deplored the racism that he'd faced recently. Talked about how we shouldn't give in to generic hatred.
Then, after the commercial break, he told a caller that he ought to report the teacher who'd discussed the US role in the Middle East in less than glowing terms. We can't have that kind of thing in our schools.
Nothing's simple. Nothing.
