A while back Jere commented that he thought the best way to handle gay marriage civil disobedience was to stop giving out marriage licenses — you still make the point about equal treatment, but you don’t give out licenses which are unlikely to remain valid.

I liked how most of the people interviewed were just confused by this.

Its a step I'd like to see other places take. But then you knew that already.

Oh, good. Now we get to see the experiment in action. I'm still betting on serious backlash as the right now has an example where the gay marriage issue *is* hurting heterosexual marriage.
