So what's the deal with Condi Rice? Did she refuse to testify in open court (supposedly she testified in private), or did the White House hold her back? I've seen conflicting reports. Either way... what the fuck? What makes her so special?

Well its hard to tell with the Bush WhiteHouse where ones refusal to testify and Bush's refusal to have you testify begin and end, sicne they operate under such clsoe ties of personal loyalty (one probably could call it feudal)

It looked bad, even with the Commission's attempted spin. But Clarke's opening amde just about everyone else look bad.

She has refused on the grounds that the White House does not want her to testify -- the White House claims that letting the National Security Advisor testify would violate executive privilege.

However, looking at history, Zbigniew Brzezinski testified in 1980 and Sandy Berger testified in 1997. Ooops.

That is pretty damn impressive, I must admit. I mean, not only was he able to participate in the game, he was also able to read through the transcripts and then post to LiveJournal, all from the comfort of my living room.
