Current Gmail users have a couple of invites to the beta to give away. This has resulted in many offers of firstborn. In order to organize these offers, a clever person invented gmail swap, where people can post offers and the lucky few with gmail invites can pick the cream of the crop.

For the record, this one is the cream of the crop. But only if you're an Asheron's Call player who's easily amused.

Hmm. I don't have any bloody invites to give away.

Also, I don't know how happy people who pay good money for a cherry email address are going to be very happy - I didn't try a lot of usernames, but I'm thinking most of the popular names are long gone. (I'm pretty sure I tried "chrisk" and it was already taken, for instance.)

Whoa. So I decided that maybe the reason I didn't have any invites was because I was a bad beta tester - having not used the service since I created my account. So I sent myself some emails, and replied to them, and dude! I mean, I freely admit that I'm living in the dark ages; my email client of choice is still PINE. But threaded email rocks!
