The Men of Action game, invented by Rob MacDougall:

Pick a historical figure; let's say Walt Whitman. Walt Whitman's Men of Action! Describe the ensuing campaign.

Go.

By simply putting "Men of Action!" after a name, I find that camapign ideas can't help but present themselves. Hell, I came up with a 3 session arc for "Tupac Shakur's Men of Action!" while cooking dinner last night. If you asked me two days ago "could you come up with an rpg involving Tupac?" I'd have said No.

Millard Fillmore's Men of Action! See! Something involving busting open safehouses and muscling up villains who are trying to sabotage the Compromise of 1850 has already sprung full-formed to your mind!

(and I would totally play in a Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen's Men of Action game!)

Oh, absolutely. That's why we couldn't stop doing it the other night.

Heh... actually, I've already run this game. See, my old 1970s Mage game (it ain't Gothic Punk, it's Gothic Funk) which I never finished summarizing was called "The New Know Nothings", and the name was a reference to the Know-Nothings, the 19th Century nativist anti-Catholic anti-immigrant movement. And Millard Fillmore was the head of the Know Nothing party at one point, and the head of the Anti-Mason party at another point, and became president under weird circumstances when Tyler? Taylor? died from eating cold cream on a hot day, so I had this idea that Millard Fillmore had actually been a mystical conspiracy buster back in the day, and so the secret password / slogan of the New Know Nothings was "MILLARD FILLMORE DIED FOR YOU", even though none of my players knew enough about American History to know what the hell I was talking about, and and and and ... (continues breathlessly for several pages)

You know Fillmore's last words? "The nourishment is palatable." Now there's a great man!

I keep threatening Totaly Spies! and one day I WILL run it...

Also: Emperor Romulus Augustulus's Men of Action!
