Date: 2004-11-10 02:46 am (UTC)But every single time, the last four years, that I've seen something breathlessly audacious suggested about this administration, and every time that I think 'they can't *possibly* really be doing that', they go ahead and do it. And I actually think they'd succeed. Would any GOP senators really dissent against a former senator's nomination to anything?
But perhaps you're right. In any case, there are plenty of appalling people they could nominate to the Court -- Ashcroft is hardly the only terrible outcome. I'm confident that in each of the four or so justices that they pick we'll all be taken aback by the audacity.
And for now, it's good he's gone from Justice. He's a really horrible person.
