I really dig visions of the Future from the Past. In fact, ideas for a game based on the year 2005 as seen from, say 1905 are percolating through my head as I write this

(hmm, Trinity through a 1905 lens. Must add that to my list of games I want other people to run).

Indeed. The flashforward I started HLMoA with took place in more or less the Gernsback Continuum, and there's a sequel campaign in there somewhere that takes place in a pulp Trinity future.

I don't know. Hm. I think retrofuturism is a branch, not forward progress. Sort of by definition.

Fashion cycles from the simple to the complex. Retrofuturism is one way to be complex. Baroque's another.
