I think I've got the others figured out, but those weren't "guesses" so much as looking up the keywords on IMDB and then picking through the most likely ones. I could usually get it by the third movie I looked at. Number 8 had me stumped for a while - Wrestling threw me off the scent - but I think I got it afterwards.

I was able to figure out what #4 and #5 are by cheating, at least. And I have to say, I'm horrified by the number of movies tagged as "neo noir." I am pleased to report, however, that none of the 632 movies so tagged were made before the term "film noir" was coined.

i couldn't figure out what #4 was, so i poked around a bit on imdb and figured out that i hadn't seen the movie. (i was thinking "buckaroo banzai", with a peculiar interpretation of "illegal immigrant", but was pretty sure there wasn't any substantial marijuana use in the movie.)

i knew 6 and had the right answer in my possible guesses for 7 (i haven't seen "the departed", but i assume those apply as well there).

hm. it looks like i haven't seen #5 either.

I don't know about pot abuse in that movie, but there was plenty of LSD abuse. Aliens from the eighth dimension?... c'mon!
