Maggie Update

She has adjusted well to the new house, by which I mean she runs around at high velocity and, from time to time, when feeling unwise, pounces on Bunny's tail. Bunny: "WHACK." Maggie: "Oh..."

She's terminally affectionate. It's fairly easy to convince her to come settle down on top of you at any opportunity, and sometimes one wakes up with a kitten sleeping on one's head.

She's alarmed about tall things, which includes people. Typically if I walk past her in the hall she stares up at me, nervously, then sprints to my bed on the assumption that I'm going there. She dislikes being carried.

She sounds a lot like our Casey kitty. She also tears about at shockingly high speeds, is crazy affectionate (although a bit less so once she hit puberty), she is easily frightened, especially of new things and the big, scary world outside, and doesn't much like to be carried about, but I do sometimes anyway.

when she was little, before puberty, she slept on Nate's pillow. cutest thing ever. Now, Bed is included among the scary things. She won't have anything to do w/ bed. Well, unless she is playing with Nate. He tosses her onto Bed and she leaps into the air and runs away only to come back to Nate to do it again.

Does your Maggie make noise? I recently read an article claiming that most house cats are not vocal and I don't believe them. Both of mine are vocal. Nik makes really irie, deep, gutteral meows that make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up when I wake up to that in the middle of the night. And Casey makes little high pitched "meep" that sounds a bit like a question and nothing like a cat noise, but more like the finches. She only makes noises when she is playing tho.

Oh, she's insanely vocal. Very much a purrer, and as is typical with Maine Coons, she has a distinct trill which is unlike most other cat noises.
