Google is now scanning pages for malware, and if they find any they'll let you know about it. Kind of an interesting development. I assume this'll show up as a Firefox extension and be integrated into Google Toolbar soon. "Are you sure you want to visit that page?"

Either that, or they'll sell it to McAfee?

McAfee has that covered with Site Advisor. You have an item on your menu bar that is either green (the site checks out), yellow (they dunno), or red (might be bad). On what might be bad sites, it pops up a warning box.

Firefox 2 already has similar measures in its anti-phishing features. If you have firefox 2, you can see it in action by visiting their phishing protection test page.

Well, different thing to be protecting against, but if you want to see what the anti-malware protection in firefox will likely look like, there it is. In both cases the cure is to get people not to visit the website.
