The top floor hallway in our house currently looks like this:



Wyatt's closet is visible through the hole. That's my brother's arm. We'll be pulling out two of the studs, leaving the center one in place, and filling the holes with bookshelves. This should do wonders for the remaining unshelved slew of Bryant and Susan books.

oooh, fun. I also enjoyed the big projects like these when we owned a little house. We built a closet once. I wanted to do a nice, big built in wall of shelves and maybe some enclosed storage, but we never got around to it since we aren't carpenters and thus, it needed a lot more know how than framing in a closet and hanging drywall. So we stuck to replacing/repairing walls + ceilings.
