Given how bad my students are at the (trivial) math required to compute the gravitational force between themselves and a mountain, I'd have to say yes, people can really believe that.

What scares me even more is the number of people in that list who believe that technology is completely separable from science and that atheists are literally non-human.

I've also seen fundamentalists become normal, too.

Hence I don't agree with the "gotta outbreed the stupid people", because I don't think it's a matter of genes, it's a matter of education.
