Warren Zevon has been diagnosed with lung cancer. He's long been one of my favorite musicians and I am very sad that I never took the chance to see him play before now. It seems unlikely that I will have another chance.

*nod* I saw him play at AXIS, with Jill Sobule opening, on his most recent tour. (Never did get him to sign that copy of UA's Lawyers, Guns and Money.) I suppose that a good chunk of Life'll Kill Ya can be interpreted in that light:

mari and I went down to see his show a number of years ago, but realized we should have bought the tickets ahead when we got to the door and were told "It's sold out". We were sad then to have missed it, but now I'm really sad because it means I don't have another chance.
