Yep, they really hate McCain.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Less than a week after balking at the Alaska Legislature's investigation into her alleged abuse of power, Gov. Sarah Palin on Monday indicated she will cooperate with a separate probe run by people she can fire.

I liked your writeup, btw. I've sort of been feeling like... Alaskan politics are just a bit too askew to make for a good candidate; it's not that there's anything inherently /wrong/ with the way Alaska does business, but it's not going to resonate well with the lower 48.

I don't even think it's that they're too askew. I think Alaska's too remote and unimportant to the rest of the country for an Alaskan politician to resonate with the Lower 48.

Wow, Campbell Scott moves her head waaaay too much when she talks. About 40 seconds in I was transfixed by that and completely lost the thread of what she was saying. It's like her human interaction emulation chip got damaged or something and she's vastly overcompensating.

But anyway, it's probably the white male privilege talking but I don't see the McCain campaign keeping reporters away from Palin as being rooted in protecting this delicate flower of a woman. Sure feels to me like they're just afraid Palin will make an ass of herself again like she did with Gibson. I hadn't even considered the sexism angle of it.

Alaska is an edge case, with unusual geography, unusual demographics and an unusual economic structure. The things that work well there don't necessarily translate, no.
