There's this banner ad that's been running for some game named Evony. I don't know if it's a browser MMO or a strategy game or what, but the tagline on the banner is "Over half a million players challenge your rule. You better get started." And I keep reading it with half of my brain and trying to figure out how Massively Multiplayer Nomic could possibly work.

It sounds like someone finally made an MMO about my job - Policy and Procedures: The Appealing

Considering the endless cycle of Grief/Exploit-> Patch/Rebalance most MMOs go through, I think MMON already exists. :p

It used to be civony. I don't know why they changed it, but probably related to CIVs trademarks. It's a city-building strategy game with tech to learn and resources to mine, then cities attack each other. clans to give you buddies to strike back.

I played for about two weeks, then got bored.

There are actually a lot of those out there right now. Almost all of them have spotty track records at best, and too many of them are just broken piles of crap, but they're not that unusual.

The biggest one here in the states is called The U.S. Government which is looking a bit better now that a new management team has taken over from the previous dumbasses who were in charge.

Yeah, I noticed that they'd changed it from "Civony" and wondered why. Can Civilization really trademark the prefix "Civ"?

Also, their ads really deeply pissed me off, insofar as the tagline was something like "Come, my lord, your queen awaits!" accompanied by an image of a woman in a shift-like white dress. What, only straight men play these games?

I totally missed those ads. Anyone who went to the game for scantily clad women was in the wrong place.

It wasn't bad, but it was rapidly a solved puzzle and didn't offer much interesting stuff in non-PVP play.

It was no Kingdom of Loathing.
