Last Call

If by some chance you missed it: I'm walking to help the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. My housemate Wyatt killed himself last fall; the memories of that night are a violence to my heart. I want to help keep this from happening to anyone else.

Thanks to the generosity of an old friend, I find myself within shouting distance of my fundraising goal: I'm $280 $130 away. The walk is this coming Saturday. I had set myself a high goal as a motivator, not really expecting to reach it. This rather misses the point of motivating oneself with high goals, I suppose. In any case, I can see the target from where I'm standing, so I'm going to make a last push to meet it.

Hm, and here's one more thing. I do a lot of things pretty well: I write, I do UNIX geeking, I write simple Web apps. If by some weird chance you'd wanted my expertise on something but were reluctant to ask -- hey, throw ten or twenty bucks into the kitty and ask now. Donate, I dunno, fifty bucks and I'll work through getting a domain name plus blog plus whatever set up with you. Custom RPG writing? Can do.

I wanna hit $1,500 in donations. It is a bitch and a half to ask for them publicly, as it turns out, but it's worth it.

Thanks for the reminder. I had to wait until I get paid (life as a grad student sucks) but I had then forgotten. Wish I could give and walk. Will be thinking of you guys.
