I love my iPod. I’d long ago noticed that its alphabetic sort puts bands with “The” in their appropriate place; i.e., “The Beatles” sort into the Bs. Good. But I didn’t realize until yesterday that it does the same thing with “Los.” Yep, Los Straightjackets are in the Ss.

Color me green with envy. I've wanted one so bad since they were first released. Yeah, I've survived another year or two since w/o one, but still. They rock.

I was hoping at the upcoming MacWorld they'd announce new ones with PDA and media player capabilities (color LCD screen QuickTime players). The new ones they just announced last week are sweet, but I don't have $500... I really really really want to get one before my trip to Ireland in November, though. Plus, I want to get the largest one possible because being able to use it as a firewire drive is just too cool for school. It'd be great if I could shuffle media between work and home in my friggin' pocket.

The silver lining in all this is I suspect that since Apple released this breed of iPods now and not in July at MacWorld, they must have a really big announcement, and they didn't want the iPods getting lost in the shuffle. G5s, anyone? :)
