From [livejournal.com profile] immlass:

1. What's the unknown treasure of local bands where you live?

Damned if I know. On the other hand, I know there is one. Boston's music scene has a degree of diversity that I always found lacking in San Francisco. Tons of clubs with live music, as opposed to tons of clubs with DJs. Nothing wrong with DJs, mind you.

2. What's the last cultural event (live theater, live music, museum exhibit, etc.) you attended? Was it any good?

Does wrestling count? Perhaps not. If not, then... ah; I saw The Music at TT The Bear's. Very young British band doing big phat guitar riffs. Sort of early Led Zeppelin meets Phish. They were pretty good in that they have a nice sense of how to construct a gigantic guitar hook, and pretty mundane otherwise.

3. If you could pick one blogger or LJer to game with online (that you aren't currently gaming with), which one would it be? Why?

Hrf.

If I could choose one online person, it'd be Jason Corley, because he wrote fanfic based on one of my RPG books. Plus I like his style. But he's not a blogger or a journaller. Neither, as far as I know, is Neel Krishnaswami. (I probably could arrange to game with him, since I'm in the same city now, but I hear he's about to move. Grrr.)

I am sort of gaming with [livejournal.com profile] flit so I can't choose her, but that would be cheating anyhow. I got to game with her for like ten years.

Soooooo I think kodi, cause I get along with him very well and I'm curious.

I should also note that I'm not, hrm. I like MUSHing OK and I don't have anything against PBeMs, but tabletop is my one true love.

4. What's one thing you consciously choose not to write about in your blog/LJ?

My job. First, I work at a pretty high-profile company in a certain field, and I don't want people blaming me for decisions my company makes. I like keeping the separation. Second, I don't want people making assumptions about my company based on my personality. My company has nothing to do with my raving anarchist leanings.

I also don't talk about my personal life much. I'd either be bragging or whining. (The latter, at present.)

5. I notice that a certain conservative commenter on your blog has recently stopped commenting there. What's your take on that situation? Are you happy, sad, or indifferent? Why do you think he was commenting and why do you think he stopped? Do you think he'll be back later?

He comes and goes. I will admit to a spurt of Gitmo Bay postings intended to torque him off; maybe it worked, or maybe he's just busy.

I know he found my blog via Cold Fury. Mike of Cold Fury has on occasion recommended me as a rational liberal. For my part, I like Mike (although his blog pisses me off more often than not), and I'd gladly buy him a beer. But that particular conservative commentator is not a particularly integrity-filled guy.

Well, there goes my hope for an inside scoop on the Boston scene. I've been asking everyone the question about their local band and finding the web sites and downloading MP3s. I've gotten some cool stuff that way.

I'd sure love to get back into tabletop, but the local group I know is oriented towards different interests than I am. I'd love to find some new people playing *anything* but d20 or other hack'n'slash dungeon games.

If you-know-who comes back, I'm commenting on politics in your LJ rather than argue with him. Life is too short to drink bad beer.
