Some time ago:

For some odd reason I'm not really comfortable posting long ranty things to my LiveJournal. There's something weird going on in my head there. I think it's because I have this constant awareness that I'm dropping an acrid pissed off political rant in the middle of a couple of dozen nice peaceful friends pages, between a perfectly harmless quiz answer and a thoughtful introspective discussion of someone’s day. "If I were a Sluggy Freelance character, I would be -- holy shit, what the hell got up his ass?" That sort of thing. Also I keep finding myself self-conscious about profanity, cause I know some of my readers aren't fond of the stuff.

Yeah, still pretty much the case.

A little less than a year ago -- August 27th, 2003 -- I got the anniversary completely wrong. I still make dumb mistakes, too.

Thanks for visiting, anyhow. I promise to keep writing whenever I have something interesting to say.

I guess that profanity is pretty obviously part of my everyday lexicon, so i've never worried that, say, my mother will come across it and be horrified. I don't swear half as often as i did 10 years ago, though.

You are a sysadmin, baseball fan, gamer, and politically aware guy. At the least. And that's cool with me. Other friends i can't always take all of them, but i wouldn't want them to restrain themselves on my account.

I just realized that most people don't know; I didn't use to syndicate over to LJ. That started, I dunno, sometime later. But now people do get my rants in the middle of their Buffy quizzes if they want it that way; who am I to say no?

Maybe next year I'll start sending 'em out as cell phone text messages.

Human beings come equipped with this wonderful survival mechanism called 'selective attention'. :) I, for one, like your rants - the M&M one before the cheesy Tales from the Crypt movie stands out strong in the mind - so wouldn't at all mind finding them on occasion in my friends list. And if I didn't like it, well... I could go to the next entry. :)
