I still have a lot of respect for Pat Tillman, and I think that Jake Plummer ought to be able to honor him by wearing a patch on his helmet for as long as he wants. Off Wing Opinion has more.

(I think this is a general principle -- if Tom Brady wants to wear a patch honoring his grandmother, he ought to be able to do so -- but one crack in the wall at a time.)

The part that gets me is that it's not like Tillman is just this guy or anything, from Plummer's perspective. College roommates, teammates at Arizona...he knew Tillman. They were good friends.

The entire Arizona Cardinals gets to wear the sticker. Why doesn't Jake, just because he got traded?

It's worth adding that The NFL elected not to fine Plummer and worked out a compromise where he doesn't get to wear the sticker but Invesco field will have a memorial to him on the field and Jake will write and deliver a public service announcement for some part of the season.
