It took me one and a half hours to get to work -- double the normal time.
"But, Max," someone might say, "since there's no snow in San Francisco, why did it take so long?"
One might guess that it had rained, and the poor drivers we have here couldn't handle it. This guess would be incorrect, but close.
It didn't actually rain, but it looked like it was going to rain.
There were no accidents, no cars pulled over by police, no debris in the road. No possible reason for people to be driving so slowly. Nothing. Except dark and ominous clouds in the sky.
