Looks like the Copley Place theater is closing. Can't say I'm surprised, although I'm a little bit sorry. They were a lousy theater but they were also the best bet for second run art flicks in Boston. Not, mind you, that I got down there very often. It's a pity, regardless.

I'm a little surprised that Copley Place can't support a theater. But I agree, I don't get down there very often. I think the last movie I saw down there was...lord, Equilibrium.

It's not very convenient if you don't have a car, but if you're in one of those situations where you're trying to figure out another option about where to grab a showing of some particular mid sized indie/foreign/art film, keep the Landmark Embassy in Waltham in the back of your mind. Right now they're playing The Woodsman, Closer, Million Dollar Baby, Bad Education, Life Aquatic etc etc.
