Two Great Tastes
May. 19th, 2002 12:23 amSo after a pleasant tabletop session of "beat the crap out of the undead dragon elf," I made tracks up to Mountain View for a player meeting for an Unknown Armies LARP. Much to my pleasure, it seems like a really solid crowd. I offered up the southern sheriff in search of his son concept I had, and it went over well. The GMs seemed cool, the people seemed cool, I had a nice chat about the GNS model and good game design... not deep commentary, but one of those sort of "I'll show you my opinions if you show me yours" things.
I also had some thoughts about the paradoxical nature of Avatars of the Masterless Man and the Flying Woman, which I note here to remind myself to write them up in more detail later. "I looked at the chadors worn by the Afghanis in front of me, and I raged. Then I looked at the bird I wear on my breast to symbolize my freedom, and I wept."
