Since I seem to have a couple more people reading this of late. I am looking for work; my resume is available at http://www.innocence.com/~durrell/resume.html . I've got good management skills and I know my technical stuff inside and out. I also speak fluent Sales and Marketing -- I can produce glowing recommendations from the former VP of Marketing at AltaVista, and I'm great at getting technical groups working well with the rest of the company.

Relocation, at this stage of the game, is no problem at all.

Out of curiosity, do you wish you'd stayed?
It wasn't as if you had to leave. You'd probably
still be unhappy, but at least you'd still have a
job ... I spend a lot of time arguing with myself
over whether it's better to quit a stressful,
frustrating job (even in a lousy job market) or to
try to hang in there just to keep the paychecks
coming.

Depends on the situation, really. I certainly didn't expect to be out of work this long. On the other hand, I'm happier and I'm not broke yet.

A friend of mine recently said, "You know, I can see the jobless stress around the corners of your eyes. But you still look better than you did." He knows me pretty well, and that confirms the way I feel about the whole thing.
