Movie Nights

So, hey, I have a house now. Time to re-contemplate movie night. Assuming michele_blue and cityofbeige are amenable, and once my DVD collection gets unpacked, I'm thinking double bills once a month. Good nights... Monday? Wednesday? Possibly Tuesday?

The room configuration is a tad tight. One couch, which sits three people. Two or three folding chairs behind the couch; maybe one more to the side? I'll have to test that out.

I like contrasting but linked double bills. Chinatown and Once Upon A Time In China, maybe. Region-free DVD players are a blessing.

I would love to come to some movie nights! Tuesdays and Wednesdays are my best nights. I'll bring popcorn.

James and I get a kick out of coming up with double bills like Salma Hayek night, or Hillbilly Cannibal Night. We don't actually enact the nights, just for some reason we like to come up with double features.

Take Shawn of the Dead, do you pair it with Dawn of the Dead (zombie), Slither (horror/comedy), of Hit Fuzz (when it comes out)?

Last night we came up with The Lost Boys and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (film) for the similar themes and dueling Sutherlands.

It's a weird hobby to have.
