So on a whim and because I've been promising [livejournal.com profile] michele_blue Red Sox games for a while, I picked up Red Sox tickets. And... who's coming to town in June? Barry Bonds, on track to beat Hank Aaron's record at Fenway.

Well, that could be interesting. So I got tickets for that. Bleacher, which raises the horrifying possibility of getting the actual HR ball.

Some radio guys are saying whoever gets it should write "Steroids" on it in magic marker and hand it over to the Hall, as a permanent reminder. That feels a little dog in the manger to me. If I caught the thing, I'd be torn between selling it for whatever the market would bear; giving it to the Hall of Fame; or, my own personal statement option, just destroying it.

Fortunately this is a very unlikely sequence of events.

I understand the sentiment, but really, are you in a position to destroy something worth over a million bucks on the free market, legally?

If so, can I have some money?

I could see selling it to a very rich, very anti-Bonds person who vowed to destroy it, though. Win-win!

Enh, if it happens, think of it this way.

You get paid a million bucks to stop being pestered by people.

Kinda not a problem, really. :)
