I started the first collection of short stories after the two trilogies, was shocked by the decline in quality, and never went back. That said, I was still a big fan, and had fond memories.
And then I reread them a couple of years ago, in preparation for the animated movie (oy!). It doesn't hold up well from when I was a teenager.
I know: I'll mashup my Hyperborean Krynn with KH's Day After Ragnarok.
