Remember that time in 2004 when the presidential election came down to Ohio and we were snotty about them for months?

Ooops.

"If Coakley loses, Democrats will only have an 18 vote majority in the Senate... A bigger majority than George W Bush EVER had in the Senate when he did whatever. The. Fuck. He wanted."

Jon Stewart.

It's time for the Democratic Party quit being a bunch of fucking wimps, and actually fights.

It's not that they aren't fighting now. It's that they could have fought THEN -- with filibusters and such -- and didn't for fear of looking soft on national security or what have you.

The problem is that the Democrats keep trying to negotiate with the Republicans, but most of the Republicans aren't interested in negotiation. Clearly the only solution is either pass the Republican agenda or deadlock forever.

Fine, deadlock, and call the repugs out for it.

This is why I can't believe any hype about the liberal media - they keep softballing the repug obstructionism.

And yet there was this time in 2000 when it all came down to 5000 votes in New Hampshire and we totally failed to yell at all our friends up there who couldn't be bothered to vote because we were distracted by this other thing.
