Dance With Dragons Incoming
Mar. 3rd, 2011 11:36 amJuly 12th. 900-plus pages, the publisher says it’s a firm date, and Martin himself seems pretty sure about it as well. It’s a good year for long-awaited fantasy novels!

Date: 2011-03-04 05:11 pm (UTC)I ask this because, I'll fully admit that I loved the first of Jordan's series, even though it was largely a hacked-together plot populated by every mythological, fantasy, and even some sci-fi tropes known to man. I stayed with the series for the first 4 or 5 books, but with every one getting longer, and more soap opera-ish, and crappier, I bid it a not-so-fond farewell.
Is this series worth my time? Because, so help me, the Wheel of Time set me off fantasy series in a bad way. I still can't get the nasty aftertaste out of my mouth.
