Oh mighty Internet: is there a preferred solution for streaming VIDEO_TS directories? Boxee does it but support is rumored to be flaky. Plex maybe does it? I can handle more or less any platform although OS X or Linux are more desirable.

haven't actually tried it, but I think I can do this with Erica Sadun's (free) AirFlick and an AppleTV.

What are you trying to stream to?

Well, one solution is "a long HDMI cable".

I think Erica's stuff will work for this, but I haven't tried. It looks like it'll take anything the VLP will take as input, which includes VIDEO_TS.

It's unsupported, but I was sending AVI video and sound via AirFlick to my ATV2 from my MBP.

I would typically use a laptop attached to the tv via HDMI and just run images of the dvds in question via a virtual drive (for me Daemon tools/MagicISO) on the laptop. This may be overly crude for what you're going for though.
