I know very little about some of the people on my friends' list. Some people I know relatively well. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes spinach."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal.

I was told as a child that for every new food you try, you add an extra day to your life. Without that, I would never have known that I enjoy: Bulgur, sushi, haggis in cream, haggis out of cream, kashi, dulse (a kind of seaweed used in soups or as substitute bacon in BLTs), venison, antelope, bear and squirrel.

I have a huge soft spot for the original Muppets movie. I saw it twice during its original release as a relatively wee tyke (this was quite rare), and bits of it have stuck with me ever since. (IMDB comments suggest that it might even stack up to my childhood memories, which would be very cool.)

It may still be the only Hollywood movie I've seen more than once in first-run theatres.
